Greg Henry Intro
April 12, 2016
Since many of you are not familiar with my first guest blogger Greg Henry, I thought I’d write a quick post to help you get to know him better, tell how I was introduced to him and the effect his ministry has had on my life.
Greg pastors a church called gospel revolution in Slidell Louisiana. He is known for his deep revelation of God’s grace and passionate preaching style. He has a rule in his church where he says anybody who comes to his church is free to get up and leave at any time and he won’t be offended. You also agree that you won’t be offended at how long Greg preaches. In other words, Greg preaches a lot and he understands that sometimes we need a break…it’s all good.
I was introduced to Greg through an ex-girlfriend of mine. I started listening to him in the summer of 2014. I’ll admit that some the stuff he was talking about was hard for me to hear. Part of me was like yes that’s the truth, it bears witness. But the other part of me was like damn that means I’ve been wrong about some these things. So I went to God about it and basically He humbled me to realize that the truth was more important than me being right.
As I started to listen to Greg’s weekly sermons regularly, I kept finding a desire in my heart to hear more. Thankfully there was much more where those sermons came from. Greg had posted all of his previous sermons and even Bible studies on his site for free! I ate em up. Fortunately, I had a job that enabled me to listen to his teachings while I was at work. I remember sitting in my office with his teachings in the background…then all of sudden Greg would get worked up about something and I’d be like what did he just say? Then I’d rewind it and go back. Then rewind it again. All the while I’m taking notes in a word doc thinking to myself this guy is kicking the truth.. He’s the real deal. That doc has over 200 pages in it now. I’ve listened to everything he has on his site, most of it twice. I was hungry boy. And just so you know, Greg is not the only one I listen to so its not like my doctrine is formed solely from him. I have a whole list of preachers I recommend
here. Greg is just my favorite and the one I relate to the most. We have some similarities in our backgrounds and interests, which he uses to give some great analogies.
So I’m very thankful for Greg. His ministry has really set me free these last couple of years and helped me understand who I am and who God is. And not only that, we actually talk and he considers me a friend. So I thought nobody would be better to reach out to for my first guest blog then Greg, and praise God He was able to do it! He is very humble and willing to help anybody that has questions. I hope to get a chance to visit his church and/or meet him in person someday. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle for listening to his awesome sermons online. Check him out at his website www.gospelrevolutionchurch.om and tune into his live stream when you can. You will be blessed. Thanks Greg, for all you’ve done! Looking forward to your post.
