Unity in Marriage 2/26/17

Marriage is not supposed to be a laborious type thing.

All Satan has to do is get the marriage to be born from his thinking, because it will bring bitterness, offense, etc.

Going to look at how the serpent tries to come against men and women. He tries to get you to adopt his thinking and belief system. That gives birth to his thoughts and way of life.

The wisdom of the world is not conducive to being able to enjoying marriage. It ends up being ok I’ll do my thing and they’ll do their thing.

This is not a message to apply. This is a truth and we want this to dwell in you so that it becomes your eyes and helps you discern.

Just like the cross. We know that’s the sacrifice for our sins. Let the truth do what it does.

One of the hardest things for us to do is to see those who do things against us as innocent. We don’t see they are captive to something that is causing them to act like that.

If your leg has a cramp you don’t say I need to cut off my leg, you want to massage the cramp. See what happens when you think of yourselves as one? This doesn’t mean we become co-dependent.

When they are doing things to you it’s more like something is happening to them, not you. When we can see that they’re drowning we’ll throw them the life preserver instead of walking away.

Some grace quotes from the past week:

“Many people are hiding and running away from God because religion has painted a misconstrued picture of him that he’s judgmental and fault finding. I want to paint a new picture of who God has been to me to help others who might believe this way and struggle with having a relationship with the Lord. He isn’t fault finding or judging actually quiet the opposite. He’s very compassionate and understands your pain and where you have come from. Everyday he waits eagerly outside of the garden of our messy hearts just waiting for an invitation to come in because he knows once we allow him in he can begin to build a trust with us by getting to know who he really is loving, gentle and understanding. His hope is that we would begin to trust him to walk in the garden of our hearts so he can gently pullout the lies and pain that have over taken our hearts like weeds over the years and plant new thoughts in our hearts how he sees us, healing those areas so new and beautiful things can begin to grow and flourish in our souls. He truly is the gardener of restoration who came to make all things new again by giving us his beauty for our ashes. Friend he loves you more than you know.” ~ Jen Bantner

God intervened in your life before you were ever born. He spoke a Word to you that echos in your soul throughout time. The question is, “will you be persuaded by that Good News as it pertains to you?” ~ Bob Woods

“Rest and let God bring forth his attributes and fruit in your life. Every Seed produces after its own kind.

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬ ~ Rick Malone
